Body Odor Prevention

deoWhile there's no way to step sweating entirely if you're going to maintain a somewhat active and healthy lifestyle, there are ways to help prevent body odor from becoming a problem. Here are some natural and simple ways to help prevent body odor before it becomes a problem and has a negative effect on  your life.

Hygiene - Although this won't help for some people and only lasts a certain while, making sure you take frequent baths and wash thoroughly with soap can do a lot to help prevent body odors from causing you problems in public. It may also help to shop around for different soaps - brands and types - until you find one that seems to help keep your skin fresh and clean longer.

Baby Powder / Baking Soda - If these are applied to your dry underarms, it can help reduce moisture and keep you odor free most of the day. This may only prevent body odors for certain people, though, and can cause problems if you still sweat a lot. For a lot of people in the office, though, this can be the little extra step that helps prevent body odor.

Dress Appropriately - While you're still most likely going to sweat even if you were baggy, loose fitting clothes. Wearing these types of clothes instead of ones that fit tight  can help increase the airflow and cool your body down, eliminating the sweat and odors before they get out of control. Remember that bacteria, that causes most of the odors, tends to thrive in damp, warm places, so keeping your body's skin cool and dry can go a long way in helping you keep body odors down.

Deodorants - Good deodorants don't just mask smells with other smells. Looking for a deodorant that includes zinc or magnesium is recommended because these are known to help fight the bacteria in your body that cause bad odors. For some people, using a slightly stronger (or different) deodorant may be enough to help fight body odors. For other people, even the strongest deodorant won't help.
